Using rodent models with genetic similarities to children with rare craniofacial syndromes, they identified differences in tooth stiffness, elasticity, and mineral composition that reflect early developmental issues. The findings suggest dental tissues could serve as early biomarkers for diagnosing childhood craniofacial disorders. These methods may also improve understanding of enamel and dentin development in both rare disorders and common tooth decay. Read more |
