Guide Offers Resources, Data Dentists Can Use To Encourage HPV Vaccination

The National HPV Vaccination Roundtable has released an action guide for dentists to promote HPV vaccination and prevent oropharyngeal cancer, especially during Oral Cancer Awareness Month. The guide, developed with input from the American Dental Association, provides data and best practices for encouraging HPV vaccination, which can prevent over 90% of HPV-related cancers. Dentists are encouraged to educate patients and guardians about the importance of timely vaccination and to incorporate HPV vaccination status into patient health history discussions.
