- The problem of applicant misrepresentation, either unintentional or deliberate, and its impact on underwriting
- The cost of misrepresentation, especially by so-called “smoking liars,” both to carriers and to nonsmokers that end up paying higher premiums
- The challenges with existing data sources in indicating various preexisting conditions
- Why the move to accelerated and automated underwriting has increased the importance of data sources “checking” applicant misrepresentation
